Sequoia Voting Systems v. Ohio Secretary of
State Kenneth Blackwell stands as the most
notable example of MMM+B's adaptability and
ability to address true legal emergencies. With
less than eighteen hours remaining before Ohio
Secretary of State Kenneth Blackwell planned to
announce that Sequoia Voting Systems'
competitors but not Sequoia would be in line to
receive $150 Million in state contracts to purchase
voting machine, Sequoia Voting Systems retained
MMM+B to block the Secretary of State's award
because of unfair bidding practices. Coordinating
with Sequoia's management team in Hawaii,
California and Ireland, MMM+B obtained a
temporary restraining order and a preliminary
injunction in the Ohio Court of Claims one hour
before the Secretary of State was to announce
the award. MMM+B forced Kenneth Blackwell to
negotiate with Sequoia Voting Systems and
include Seqouia Voting Systems in the bidding
process. |
