Sequoia Voting Systems v. Ohio Secretary of State
Ohio Court of Claims

In this emergency litigation matter, MMM+B quickly reversed a crisis for Sequoia Voting Systems. With less than 18 hours remaining before Ohio Secretary of State Kenneth Blackwell was to announce who would be awarded $150 million in state contracts to purchase voting machines, Sequoia Voting Systems retained MMM+B to block the Secretary of State's award because of unfair bidding practices. Coordinating with Sequoia's management and general counsel in Hawaii, California and Ireland, MMM+B obtained a temporary restraining order and a preliminary injunction in the Ohio Court of Claims one hour before the Secretary of State was to announce the award. MMM+B forced the Secretary of State to negotiate with Sequoia Voting Systems and include it in the bidding process.
