In this arbitration, MMM+B represented a technology firm in a dispute arising from the alleged breach of a restrictive covenant in a joint venture with a major reinsurance intermediary firm. The joint venture marketed and implemented software utilizing artificial intelligence to identify claims for insurance companies to submit to reinsurance carriers under applicable policies. The dispute involved complaints filed in both State and Federal Court seeking injunctive relief and damages. The matter was subsequently presented to the American Arbitration Association for resolution. After extensive discovery and within a few weeks of the final hearing on the merits, the matter was settled.
